Doug Murren is the founder and president of Square One Ministries — now The Murren Group. For 20 years, this ministry has been devoted to helping churches get better at reaching our post-9/11 world.

Doug is a much-in-demand consultant in the area of contemporary outreach, church planting, worship, and innovations in church life.  He has assisted in the start of 87 churches over 30 years.
As a pastor, he saw 17,000 conversions in 20 years, at Eastside Foursquare Church — a church that started with 10 people in his living room and grew to become the nation’s eighth fastest growing church (fo…r six years). The church was blessed with an aggregate adherence of approximately 8,000 people with a Sunday attendance of 4,800. The church still thrives in Kirkland, WA.
Doug left Eastside to pursue his call to evangelism and consultation. He now pastors in Boise, ID., while continuing a robust ministry beyond his church. He has been a guest lecturer at Fuller Theological Seminary, the Beeson Institute at Asbury Seminary, Asbury Seminary, Regents College, the Leland Center (D.C.), and many other universities. He has consulted with several denominational groups and many congregations, in the area of practical levels of church development and outreach.
Doug’s ministry has taken him to the former Soviet Union, UK, Germany, Norway, Denmark, the former Yugoslavia, Israel, Haiti, Australia, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Czechoslovakia.
Doug has been a featured speaker for conferences and seminars all over the world. The Murren Group aims to help train 30,000 churches in greater evangelism over the next 15 years. Already, he has trained over 230,000 leaders in evangelism and church leadership.
